Alliance Spring 2024

 

AYSO's Area 2C Alliance Program offers an opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated players from 10U – 16U a more competitive but still recreational opportunity to play more soccer. Alliance is the AYSO Player Pathway level between Recreational and Club Programs. Players are selected based on skill and potential through tryouts, but can expect a lower level of competitive play and time commitment that at the full Club level.

Alliance consists of two seasons with teams formed after tryouts twice a year: Fall and Spring. Fall, players are chosen, teams formed and announced in June. Training sessions typically start mid-July. Alliance game schedule runs August through October and all teams will choose play in a number of tournaments that end typically in October depending on the team’s chosen schedule. Spring players are chosen, teams formed and announced in November. Training sessions typically start in December with the game schedule running from February through April and all teams will choose play in a number of tournaments that end typically in May depending on the team’s chosen schedule.

PARTICIPATION
All players (10U and up) are encouraged to apply/try-out. With the switch to Alliance, players do not have to have played in the Fall program to play in the Alliance program. Although you may only participate in the same division that you participated in during the Fall Core program.

The number of teams formed in each division varies from year to year depending upon the number of players trying out and the number of certified Coaches available to coach. Alliance teams travel more than fall teams, as they could play teams from Davis, as well as Winters, Capay, and Antelope (possibly others - this varies from year to year).

A higher level of commitment is expected from both the players AND the parents. Alliance is for enthusiastic and motivated players, for the purposes of player development. A player is expected to regularly attend training sessions and games. Parents are also expected to participate in league organization, particularly in the running of the Concord Cup (mid May) to which Concord AYSO is a Host.

REGISTRATION
Interested players must register for tryouts on the Area 2C website click on My Account then follow process to pick the Alliance program.

FEES
The Spring 2024 Alliance Program Fee will be $350, which includes, among other costs, the AYSO Alliance fee, field rentals, referee fees and CalNorth League fees. Additionally, families will need to purchase uniforms (est. $100/player) if not previously purchased, and contribute to team funds for tournaments and other incidental expenses. Players are expected to participate in several tournaments with the actual number based on the coach’s preference and scheduling requirements. You can expect to participate in anywhere from 3-6 tournaments. You should plan on an additional costs per player in tournament fees in addition to the Program Fee and uniforms. Additionally you will need to account for other incidental travelling costs such as gas, food, and lodging depending on the location of the tournament.

COACHING

For refereeing games on Concord fields go to our Referee Volunteers Page. The process is the same as during the regular season.

TEAM MANAGER
Collection of Team Funds - A receipt must be given to any parent that gives cash toward team costs.
 
Please remember although Alliance is more competitive it is still about the kids and run by volunteers.
 

ABOUT AYSO ALLIANCE

The AYSO Alliance program is an opportunity for interested, enthusiastic and motivated players to improve their skills in a more competitive environment while still following the Six Philosophies of AYSO (Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development). By providing a more competitive program for our 10U through 16U players, the intention to provide an environment to develop to a level not always possible through the Fall Core program.

Participation on the teams requires an increased level of commitment from both the players and parents. To enable player development, players are expected to regularly attend practices and games and display a sense of responsibility towards the coaches and their teammates.
