A Fun & Developmental Soccer Experience

IMPORTANT: 2026–27 Age Group Changes

As a result of this transition, some players may remain in the same age group they were in last season for a third year, while others may move up to the next age group after only one season.

Program Details for 6U and Older:

• Ages: Open to players born between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2021. (see age chart above)
  

• Season Dates: Registration opens in April, and teams are formed in July. Practices begin in early August, with the season running through early to mid-November.

• Practices & Games: Practices are held twice a week (midweek and weekend) until weekend games begin, then typically shift to once a week (midweek) for the rest of the season, depending on coach and field availability. Inter-league games for 12U and older begin in mid-August, with all games running from September to early to mid-November.

• Game Locations: Most games are in Pleasant Hill and Martinez. 12U and older teams play inter-league games with neighboring regions, which may include travel to Concord, Clayton, and Rio Vista.

• Team Points Program & Volunteering: This program is entirely volunteer-run, and we rely on parents and community members to help make it a success. Volunteering as a coach, referee, or in other key roles helps ensure a great season for all players and contributes to your child’s team earning the points as part of the Team Points Program. 10U+ teams must accumulate these points throughout the season to qualify for our PHMSA Cup. You can sign up to volunteer during registration.

Program Details for Playground and SchoolYard:

• Ages: The SchoolYard program is open to players born between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022. The Playground program is open to players born between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023. (see age chart above)

• AYSO SchoolYard (4-year-olds): This developmentally appropriate program introduces soccer skills like kicking, dribbling, and throw-ins in a fun, low-pressure setting while still perfecting fundamental motor skills. It transitions into 3v3 gameplay to ease children into the game without a focus on winning. No teams are formed.

• AYSO Playground (3-year-olds): Designed to allow kids to develop fundamental motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and social interaction in a fun and safe AYSO environment. Children get to gradually discover the game for themselves while bonding with parents or guardians. No teams are formed.
  

• Practices: This program is led by trained coaches who work with volunteer assistant coaches. Eight weekly weekend sessions begin in early September, with the field location finalized in mid-August. Your child will be provided a t-shirt at their first scheduled training session.
  

Registration & Fees

6U and Older:

PHMSA Registration Fee: $165 through May 31 ($200 for late registrations after May 31) 
Covers the shared cost of the league, including uniforms, field costs, awards, coach/referee training, insurance, and equipment.

AYSO National Fee: $25
Charged by AYSO for each player every Membership Year. This fee is nonrefundable.

Credit Card Processing Fee: $3.50
Charged per transaction to cover the cost of credit card processing. This fee is nonrefundable.

TOTAL COST (6U & OLDER):    $193.50    ($228.50 for late registrations after May 31)

Playground and SchoolYard:

PHMSA Registration Fee: $100
Covers the shared cost of the league, including uniforms, field costs, awards, coach/referee training, insurance, and equipment.

AYSO National Fee: $25
Charged by AYSO for each player every Membership Year. This fee is nonrefundable.

Refund Policy

We understand that circumstances change and sometimes players must be unenrolled from our program. Please review our refund policy below:

• The PHMSA Registration Fee will be refunded in full for all requests made through June 30.
• 50% of the PHMSA Registration Fee will be refunded for requests made from July 1 through August 14, as long as any equipment already distributed has been returned.
• No refunds will be given for any requests made on or after August 15.
• The AYSO National Fee ($25) and the Credit Card Processing Fee ($3.50) are nonrefundable.
