American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

PROGRAMS

PHMSA offers a variety of programs for all ages and skill levels.  Players follow a player development pathway that starts with Playground and Schoolyard, and then moves on to Fall Core, Spring Select, Spring Academy, Fall Select, and ultimately AYSO United East Bay.  Players that age out of our youth programs then have the ability to play in our AYSO Adult Soccer program.

All of our programs follow the AYSO 6 philosophies:
Everyone Plays
Balanced Teams
Open Registration
Positive Coaching
Good Sportsmanship
Player Development

Program Descriptions

Playground: This program is for our youngest athletes.  It is specifically tailored to focus on fine motor skills and body mechanics using soccer related activities.  Playground sessions are once a week during the Fall.

Schoolyard: The Schoolyard program is an academy style program that introduces players to soccer and focuses on developing the basic techniques in a fun, relaxed environment.  This program has once-a-week sessions on Sundays during the Fall where players participate in skill building soccer related activities, and then finish with a fun scrimmage-like game.  No teams are formed and the sessions are coed.

Fall Core: 2021 UPDATE:  Registration for our Fall 2021 program will open on Monday April 26th and remain open through mid-June.  It is our expectation at this time that our fall program will return to normal with the formation of teams in July, commencement of practices on August 1st and games starting in early September.  The program will run through mid November.  We will not be offering a Select option this year.

Spring Select: 2021 Update - Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID 19, we will not be offering a Spring select program in 2021.  Refer below for details on our Spring training academy.

Winter Futsal:  Futsal is a new program that runs from Dec-Feb.  Futsal is similar to soccer but is played indoors on a basketball court.  Season will consist of 8 games played in local gyms on Saturday or Sunday, with no practices.

Spring Academy:   For 2021, our spring training program will run for players aged 6U through 14U. The structure will be very similar to our fall season.  We will run two hourly sessions each week for 10 weeks (20 overall training sessions).  There will be one session on a weekday (Tuesday or Thursday) and one on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday).  Weeknight training sessions will start either 4pm, 5pm or 6pm.  Weekend sessions will start as early as 9am.  The sessions will be held at either the Waterfront Park or Hidden Lakes Park in Martinez.  Pods of 12-16 will be formed and stay consistent throughout the 10 weeks.  The sessions will be run by professionally licensed coaches from Prestige Soccer Academy and focus on technical and tactical development.  Should restrictions allow, we hope to be able to move to small sided scrimmages (4 v 4 or 5 v 5) as part of these sessions.  Our school yard session (ages 3-4) will only have 1 weekly session on Sundays.   The 2021 Spring Academy will start on Monday, March 15th and run through Sunday May 23rd.   If rain forces us to cancel multiple sessions, we will consider extending through the end of May.

AYSO United East Bay: This is the top level of the player pathway and is the official club program of AYSO.  PHMSA supports the AYSO United East Bay club and encourages our players to tryout for the United teams each May.  Additional information can be found on the AYSO United East Bay website at www.aysounitedeastbay.org.

AYSO Adult Soccer: The newest program to PHMSA, AYSO Adult Soccer offers a place for adults to play soccer in a fun, safe, and friendly environment.  This program will be officially rolling out in the near future.
