American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Pleasant Hill/Martinez Soccer Association

PHMSA offers a variety of programs for all ages and skill levels.  Players follow a player development pathway that starts with Playground and Schoolyard, and then moves on to Fall Core, Spring Alliance, Spring Academy, Fall Alliance, and ultimately Mt. Diablo Mustangs.  Players that age out of our youth programs then have the ability to play in our AYSO Adult Soccer program.

All of our programs follow the AYSO 6 philosophies:
Everyone Plays
Balanced Teams
Open Registration
Positive Coaching
Good Sportsmanship
Player Development

Program Descriptions

Playground: This program is for our youngest athletes.  It is specifically tailored to focus on fine motor skills and body mechanics using soccer related activities.  Playground sessions are once a week during the Fall and Spring

Schoolyard: The Schoolyard program is an academy style program that introduces players to soccer and focuses on developing the basic techniques in a fun, relaxed environment.  This program has once-a-week sessions on Sundays during the Fall where players participate in skill building soccer related activities, and then finish with a fun scrimmage-like game.  No teams are formed and the sessions are coed.

Fall Core: 2024 UPDATE: Registration for our Fall 2024 program is open, Registrations after 5/31/24 may be waitlisted and will incur an additional $40 late fee. Teams are formed in mid-July based on birth year, with practices starting in August and games starting in September and running through mid-November.

Spring Alliance 2024: Registration for the 2023-2024 Spring Alliance Season Tryout took place in late November and early December.

19U Co-ed Spring Program: The program will meet Saturdays from March 23rd - June 1st for games. PHMSA is working with Concord, MDSA, and Benicia teams to provide a shorter, less formal season with a focus on fun, friendly play, and player development in a fully recreational environment.

Spring Academy: The spring academy will consist of two hourly training sessions each week for 10 weeks (20 overall training sessions). The training sessions will be run by coaches from AMO Soccer Academy and focus on technical and tactical development.

AYSO Adult Soccer: The newest program to PHMSA, AYSO Adult Soccer offers a place for adults to play soccer in a fun, safe, and friendly environment.  This program will be officially rolling out in the near future.
