PHMSA is excited to announce that we are starting a recreational Futsal program this winter. We will be partnering with Diablos Futsal to provide programs for the following age groups, both boys and girls: 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U. Players will register through the PHMSA registration site and we will form balanced teams and then register the teams with Diablos Futsal. We are looking to form 4 teams per age group, and possibly more if the demand is there and space is available. If you are interested in your child playing, please complete the interest form below. Cost for registration is $115 (+ $20 AYSO national fee for new AYSO players), which includes league registration, uniform, court rental for games and practice time, insurance, etc.
Program duration: Saturday, December 7, 2019 - Sunday, February 22, 2020
Games will be played on Saturday or Sunday
Locations could be Norcal Courts in Martinez or Tice Valley Gym in Walnut Creek
There are no practices, but optional drop in training will be available once a week (details to follow)

FAQs: What is Futsal?
Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor football, the game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines; walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular football due to the surface of the field. The surface, ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.
How many players are on a team?
Teams will have 8 players on the roster, and games are played 5v5.
Where will games be played?
Games will primarily be played at Norcal Courts in Martinez and/or Tice Valley Gym in Walnut Creek.
How much will it cost?
Cost for registration is $115 (+ $20 AYSO national fee for new AYSO players), which includes league registration, uniform, court rental for games and practice time, insurance, etc.
When are games and practices?
Games start the first weekend of December and will be played on Saturday or Sunday through early February. There are no games the weekends around Christmas and New Year’s. There are no practices, although we may try to secure court space once a week for drop in free play.
Will players receive a uniform?
Yes, PHMSA will provide a jersey as part of the registration cost.
Are there any volunteer requirements?
We will look for volunteer coaches to help with the teams, but otherwise no. Referees are provided by Diablos Futsal.
